Web Accessibility Statement

TraderIQ is committed to making our platform accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

1. Our Commitment

We believe that every trader deserves equal access to tools that help them improve. Accessibility is not an afterthought — it is a core part of how we build TraderIQ.

We strive to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria across all pages and interactive elements of our web application.

2. Measures Taken

Keyboard navigation: Every interactive element on TraderIQ — including buttons, forms, navigation links, modals, and dropdowns — is fully operable using a keyboard alone. Tab order follows a logical reading flow. A skip-to-content link is available at the top of every page.

Screen reader support: We use semantic HTML5 elements (nav, main, aside, section, h1–h6, button, label) throughout the application. Interactive components built on Radix UI include ARIA roles, states, and properties by default. Dynamic content changes are announced via ARIA live regions where appropriate.

Colour contrast: Text and interactive element colours meet the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. Our gold accent colour (#f59e0b) is paired with dark backgrounds to ensure readability.

Focus indicators: All focusable elements have visible focus indicators that meet WCAG 2.1 criteria. We do not suppress the browser's default focus outline without providing an enhanced alternative.

Forms and inputs: All form fields have associated visible labels. Required fields are marked both visually and programmatically. Error messages are descriptive and linked to the relevant field via aria-describedby.

Images and icons: Informational images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images use empty alt attributes. Icon-only buttons include accessible names via aria-label.

Responsive design: TraderIQ is fully responsive from 320px upward. Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality. The layout reflows to a single column at mobile widths.

Motion and animation: Users who prefer reduced motion (via the prefers-reduced-motion media query) will experience no auto-playing animations or transitions that could cause vestibular disorders.

3. Known Limitations

Some complex chart components (trade analytics visualisations using Recharts) may have limited screen-reader descriptions. We are actively working to add detailed ARIA labels and data tables as alternatives to chart data.

Uploaded screenshots in the trade journal are user-provided content. We cannot automatically add alt text to user-uploaded images, though we encourage users to add descriptions in the trade notes field.

4. Technical Specifications

TraderIQ is built with Next.js 14 (App Router) and uses Radix UI primitives which implement WAI-ARIA design patterns. Interactive components including dialogs, dropdowns, tabs, and checkboxes follow the ARIA Authoring Practices Guide.

The application supports the following assistive technologies: NVDA + Firefox (Windows), JAWS + Chrome (Windows), VoiceOver + Safari (macOS and iOS), TalkBack + Chrome (Android).

5. Conformance Status

TraderIQ partially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. 'Partially conforms' means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard, specifically around complex data visualisations noted above.

6. Feedback and Contact

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of TraderIQ. If you experience any barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us at support@traderiq.com.

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 2 business days.

7. Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact your relevant national enforcement authority. In the United Kingdom this is the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC). In the United States, please contact the US Department of Justice Civil Rights Division.
